In 1856 she united with the Presbyterian Church.  Mrs. Rickett’s was best known as the landlady of Ricketts House where she resided for many years, dispensing a general hospitality to her guests. She was an extremely kind-hearted woman, and no one ever appealed in vain to her for aid. When younger she took much interest in politics, being a staunch Democrat.
